POETRY    POLYPHONY   WORKSONGS

UNE EPOPÉE À TRAVERS LE MONDE

Strong and powerful, this amazing female ensemble pays tribute to women’s poetry and work songs around the world.

The ensemble was founded in Marseille while every singer/musician comes from a different shore of the Mediterranean and a different background of studies and experiences.

Les Dames de la Joliette invite us to a musical journey, challenging each and everyone with their voices, pandeiro, tambureddu, piano and a table !

They perform original compositions and arrangements of popular music with mediterranean influences by Gil Aniorte.

Les Dames de  la Joliette want to inherit the spirit of resistance and life of all women of the world, like their illustrious elders of the "Bastion des Dames » of Marseille who bravely defended the city during an enemy invasion.

Together, these talented artists arrive to a joyful and strong synthesis of polyphonic, popular and urban music.
